CLARK MASTS FOR MILITARY USERS

Series 90 MECHANICALLY EXTENDED

THE CLARK MASTS BIG-LIFTER PORTABLE MAST, 300 Kg
UP TO 40 METRES
Clark Masts Series 90 Portable Mast in service This Clark Masts Heavy-Lift portable mast was developed from the Type 73 to meet the need to lift 300 kg vertical antenna loads to 40 metres with great stability and safety. The Clark Masts Series 90 field mounted portable mast uses 4 legged erection gear and guys at 90 degrees. The Clark Masts Series 90's great rigidity typically enables grid parabola antennas up to 3 metres in diameter to be placed at heights up to 40 metres with the necessary torsional stability. The guy control system retains safety at all stages of erection and retraction. A built-in crane device enables heavy antennas to be mounted with minimum effort. Once erected, all Clark Masts Series 90 erection gear may be removed leaving a semi-permanent heavy lift portable mast deployed.

Errecting a Clark Masts Series 90 portable mast
The Clark Masts Series 90 portable masts are built around a standard mast section of 150 mm (6") in diameter and 2 metres long. Series 90 mast sections are joined together with a keyed spigot member and secured by means of an external clamp. The joint is free of all torsional play. The erection gear comprises a four legged mast section guiding unit incorporating steps and a work platform. A Crane lifts big antennas into position on the Clark Masts Series 90 portable mast at ground level. The Lifting Hoist, common to both Crane and mast erection has a double braking system, finger controlled and automatic. Guying is handled by guy control units on the ground near the Clark Masts Series 90 portable mast base.
