| Clark Masts type
DAF Field Mountable Portable Masts incorporate portable mast units from the ST Series. Each of the four models in the Clark Masts DAF range is
supplied as a complete field mountable portable mast kit with all necessary field mounting
legs attached, guy pickets, guys, hammer and carrying
bag. With the Clark Masts DAF mast and legs folded and all the
accessories in the carrying bag, the resulting two bag
pack makes these portable masts highly person-portable. In normal
weather conditions these Clark Masts DAF field mountable portable masts may be easily erected by
one person. The weight and widely spread
telescopic folding legs provide ample stability, with the 6 metre Clark Masts DAF
portable mast being safe to use unguyed in wind conditions up to
32 Km/Hr*. In windy conditions the guys supplied must be
used, giving the 6 metre mast a wind rating of 120
Km/Hr*. A second person may be required to handle the
guys in high wind conditions. Typical applications for Clark Masts type DAF Field Mountable Portable Masts, apart from radio antennas, include supporting cameras (aerial photography), DGPS surveying, anemometers, rain gauges, radio field strength measurements, marker heads and portable lighting (see Clark Masts Teklite Lighting Masts where specialist Emergency Lighting Masts are required). |

Clark Masts DAF Field Mountable Portable Mast
General Description All the portable masts in the Clark Masts DAF series of field mountable portable masts have a bottom section diameter of 75mm (3"). This is supported by four folding telescopic field legs which are permanently attached to an aluminium collar in turn attached to the DAF mast's base section. The four leg's feet are secured (when folded) to the Clark Masts DAF mast base for ease of transport. The Clark Masts DAF mast is rotatable and carries at its head a swivel guy collar and a quick clamping antenna socket, 24 mm diameter. Each Clark Masts DAF mast section is keyed to the next to prevent individual sections twisting. Sections are also provided with clamp (locking) collars, allowing the Clark Masts DAF portable mast to stay extended indefinitely, even after the air supply has been removed. Air supply for extension is supplied by a handpump attached to the mast base. Retraction is achieved by opening a valve on the pump base. For further details on the Clark Masts DAF portable mast itself, reference should be made to the description of the ST Series of masts or E-mail GFS Electronics. |
