GFS ELECTRONICS
Radio System Consultancy,
Fault Diagnosis and Design.
If you are in the mining industry,
petrochemical, offshore operations, hydrological survey,
Department of Defence or just require remote area voice or data
communications, GFS Electronics may be able to help you. Our
consultancy service is backed by over 25
years of experience in
specifying, designing, manufacturing, sourcing and supplying a
wide range of users with short and long haul voice and data
communication systems. Whether your requirement is for a closed
circuit television link across 45 kilometres of desert, a data or
differential GPS system over 400 kilometres of water (without the
high ongoing cost of satellite circuit rental) or a satellite
delivered TV/Radio system, GFS will specify, design, and if
required, supply and install a system to meet your needs at a
cost which will also meet your budget.
One of the first in Australia to do
so, GFS Electronics started manufacture of HF radio data modems
in 1982. Since that time our modems as well as other GFS products
have seen service in places as remote as the Antarctic Continent
to the jungles of Africa, Indonesia and South America. They have
also served in hot, dry dusty Australian and Middle Eastern
deserts, as well as in the high humidity offshore maritime
environments of a number of the world's oceans.
Reliability has always been number one on GFS' design criteria list, whether that be for a new product design or a radio communication system. Ranking a close second is 'cost effectiveness', a term very adequately met by our preferred use of 'low ongoing cost' long haul goundwave HF radio systems for many applications.
GFS Electronics' experience in
Defence is also quite extensive, having, amongst other achievements, designed and manufactured a military environment
tactical HF/VHF radio modem, th
e model
CPU-100/F2 shown at left. GFS Electronics designed and supplied
to the Australian Department of Defence - Army, a Theatre Grid
Survey Differential GPS radio system based on HF ground wave
signal propagation. This system consistently achieves more than
its design objectives, by providing DGPS data communications
reliably over long distances across varying terrain. We also have
behind us a number of years experience working in the defence
area of Electronic Warfare.
In addition to work performed/products supplied to Australia's Department of Defence, GFS Electronics have consulted or supplied systems/products to large mining companies such as BHP Petroleum, BHP Iron Ore, BHP Billiton, Hamersley Iron, NRG Flinders Leigh Creek Coal Field and Olympic Dam Project.
If you find yourself having trouble sourcing components for your radio system, contact GFS Electronics, as our many years of experience have provided us with a very large number of contacts in the industry.
GFS are the Australian/Asia-Pacific distributors of Clark Masts unique range of lightweight aluminium alloy, portable air-operated telescopic masts. These masts can be used in a wide range of applications requiring portability, from defence (see photo at left) to emergency services, aerial photography as well as commercial and industrial applications. Over 160 different models are available with extended heights from 4 metres to 30 metres. If a Non-Conductive very lightweight portable telescopic mast is required for a particular application, GFS Electronics can also help, as they are the Australian/Asia-Pacific distributors of Mastsystem's Carbonfibre-composite masts. These unique masts vary in size from 4 metre man-packable tripod units to 30 metre vehicle or shelter mounted masts.
GFS Electronics are distributors of a
unique range of NON-CONDUCTIVE Guy/Catenary Wire called Debeglass
wire. It is available in 4, 5, 6, 8, 10 and 12 mm diameters and
suitable for many applications where electromagnetically inert
support is required for antennas, masts and leaky coax cable.
More details on Debeglass can be found HERE
If your company or organization needs to meet a requirement for cost effective voice or data communications over land, water, or has a problem to be resolved with the current radio system, contact GFS Electronics. Depending on your needs, our involvement can vary from as little as just providing advice on a cost effective solution to full project management. |
