Cobham Mastsystem EX128 Series of lightweight telescopic portable masts are designed to meet the most demanding requirements of mobile communication systems, yet still fill the expectations of an economical budget. Cobham Mastsystem EX128 Series masts are also applicable to such areas as defence, the police, geodetic surveying, radio and TV broadcasting, as well as emergency communication operations and portable emergency lighting.

Every Cobham Mastsystem EX128 Series portable mast and guy assembly detail are designed to resist external forces and to ensure quick and safe operation. Cobham Mastsystem EX128 Series portable masts perform excellently in both arctic and tropical areas as well as desert environments. Cobham Mastsystem EX128 Series are "hand-crank" extended types, but can also be optionally extended electrically. Mounting kits for vehicles and shelters, as well as a variety of other mounting situations are also available.

All Cobham Mastsystem EX128 Series mast sections are manufactured from pulltruded carbon/glass fibre composite tubes with light metal and stainless steel fittings. EX128 portable mast composite fibre tubes move inside each other on guide keyways which prevent the individual sections from turning and keep the portqable mast itself stationary. Cobham Mastsystem EX128 Series masts are also rotatable through 360 degrees and can be locked in any position. Mechanical stops prevent the sections from being disengaged during extension. Cobham Mastsystem EX128 Series standard mast sections are finished in green with black fittings. Other colours are available on request, such as desert sand.

Every Cobham Mastsystem EX128 Series 'Complete System' portable mast is supplied with a robust reinforced transit bag containing a set of field deployment accessories which are designed to expedite mast set up and tear down time, even in the harshest environment. Cobham Mastsystem EX128 Series user-friendly design of guy rope reels and tensioners makes the task of tensioning the guys and plumbing the mast simple, rapid and straight forward, while EX128 Series highly tempered ground pickets are suitable for repeated use in a wide variety of ground conditions including permafrost.

Cobham Mastsystem EX128 Series portable masts meet the environmental requirements of MIL-STD 810. Cobham Mastsystem International Oy conform to the Quality Standard ISO9001.
