Cobham Mastsystem TM Series of lightweight telescopic portable masts are designed to meet the most demanding requirements of mobile/portable communication systems, yet still meet the expectations of an economical budget. Cobham Mastsystem TM Series portable masts are also applicable to such areas as defence, the police, geodetic surveying, radio, aerial photography, TV broadcasting, emergency operations and temporary/portable emergency lighting.

Every Cobham Mastsystem portable mast and guy assembly detail are designed to resist external forces and to ensure quick and safe operation in the field. Cobham Mastsystem portable masts perform excellently in both arctic and tropical areas as well as desert environments. Cobham Mastsystem TM Series portable masts are "push-up" hand extending types and can be supplemented with a mounting kit for vehicles and shelters as well as field deployment. A wide variety of other ancillary equipment is also available for the Cobham Mastsystem TM series of portable masts.

All Cobham Mastsystem TM Series portable mast sections are manufactured from light weight pulltruded composite carbon/glassfibre tubes. Cobham Mastsystem portable masts are rotatable through 360 degrees and can be locked in any position. Mechanical stops prevent the sections from being disengaged during extension. Standard Cobham Mastsystem portable mast sections are finished in green with black fittings. Other colours, such as desert sand, are available on request.

Every Cobham Mastsystem portable mast is supplied with a robust reinforced transit bag containing a full set of field deployment accessories, which are designed to expedite portable mast set up and tear down time, even in the harshest environment. The user-friendly design of Cobham Mastsystem portable mast guy rope reels and tensioners makes the task of tensioning the guys and plumbing theTM Series portable mast simple, quick and straight forward, while the highly tempered guy stakes are suitable for repeated use in a wide variety of ground conditions including permafrost.

Standard Cobham Mastsystem Tripods & Tripod Masts
The Cobham Mastsystem TM Series portable masts feature a number of lightweight standard masts, all of which require some type of mounting support (guys, vehicle or shelter mounting) for their deployment. Additionally the portable mast series includes "stand-alone" lightweight Tripods (TP Series) as well as a "stand alone" tripod mounted portable mast, the TPM51/5-1.65 model. The Cobham Mastsystem TPM Tripod Masts can be supplied for manpackability and as such are ideally suited to a number of applications, including covert Electronic Warfare. Shown above is small manpackable lightweight carbonfibre-composite tripod portable mast in use by Australia's Department of Defence, the model TPM58/4-0.9. This Cobham Mastsystem portable mast has been designed to provide a height of 4 metres when used as a tripod or 5.1 metres if used as a single stand alone portable mast.
